Welcome To Central Ohio Shetland Sheepdog Association

Established in 1989, Central Ohio Shetland Sheepdog Association, Inc. (COSSA) is an American Kennel Club licensed organization. COSSA is a breed-specific educational club with the purpose of promoting the Shetland Sheepdog. Membership is encouraged for fanciers who have indicated a lasting interest in shelties and the preservation of the AKC breed standard through exhibiting in AKC conformation or performance events, responsible breeding practices, or by keeping shelties as family companions. Prospective members must use responsible breeding practices, therefore, the sale of puppies or litters by our members to pet stores or brokers is prohibited.

COSSA’s membership ranges from people just getting started by buying their first sheltie to members who have bred and shown shelties for over 30 years. We encourage participation in our many events including conformation shows, seminars, performance matches and other club sponsored programs. Regardless of individual interests, all members are equal in our eyes since we share the common bond of loving and enjoying our shelties.

For the second year in a row, congratulations go out to COSSA member Jennifer Crank and her Sheltie Bee will be representing TEAM USA at the AKC European Open. The 2023 European Open will be held this July in Denmark. COSSA is very proud of our extremely talented members, including Jennifer, who represent our club and nation in agility competitions on the world stage!
